At Ormiston Meadows Academy we understand the value of PSHE and SMSC in developing pupils to be caring members of our academy and the wider community. We incorporated PSHE and SMSC into all aspects of academy life from Cornerstones topic work, assemblies, weekly Votes for Schools and work with specialist visiting speakers, such as Big Talk, to deliver topics tailored for our pupils.
Votes for Schools was created to give all young people a better knowledge of current affairs and get them voting! Each week our pupils, from Year 1 to 6, have the opportunity to learn about and vote on topics ranging from topical news items to issues which impact on their lives. The results of the weekly votes are shared as part of our weekly celebration assembly.
During the school closure period Votes for Schools have kindly produced online resources for parents and carers to use at home. Please see below for this weeks question.
