Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything Plato
Music is a core part of life of our academy. We believe that music builds confidence, ability and harness a life-long love of a variety of music, the Ormiston Meadows Music Programme offers a wealth of experience for all pupils at all levels.
We use music to raise standards of achievement in reading, writing and mathematics. It is also at the heart of a joyful and disciplined academy culture. Our school choir is evidence of this. Singing is used to develop oracy. Performance is used to develop confidence and character. Learning to read music helps to accelerate literacy and numeracy. Ensemble is used to promote interaction and co-operation. Instrumental work develops co-ordination and fine motor skills.
Our violin group are coming on in leaps and bounds! All the practice is paying off, well done!
Our choir were invited to attend the PiXL celebration at the O2 Indigo Arena on Thursday 15th June to represent Ormiston Meadows Primary Academy. All the children were fantastic ambassadors for our school and we were very proud of their mature attitude and excellent behaviour.
We have had some amazing examples of performing art from our pupils this week, here are a few highlights!
